Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play?

Drag anywhere to aim an upward shot, then release to fire a stream of balls. The balls bounce around, chip away at each cage’s HP, and free the animal inside. After every salvo the whole field descends one row and a new row spawns at the top. The run ends when a cage crosses the danger line at the bottom — your score is how many animals you freed, multiplied by your Frenzy combo.

What are the rescue worlds?

Cage Break has ten hand-themed worlds — Rainforest, Ocean, Arctic, Savanna, Barnyard, Bayou, Coral Reef, City, Volcano, and Cherry Grove — each with its own animals, music, danger, and app icon. Every animal you free collects in your persistent Sanctuary. Rainforest is available from the start; the others unlock as you reach score milestones (or instantly with the premium purchase).

What do the power-ups do?

Power-ups ride down in their own cages:

There’s also a catchable Frenzy orb that stacks a ×2–×5 score multiplier — the more you keep the combo alive, the higher your score climbs.

What are the difficulty levels?

Easy, Medium, and Hard trade off ball count, cage HP growth, spawn density, and how much runway you have before cages reach the danger line. High scores are tracked separately for each difficulty.

Does Cage Break collect my data?

No. Cage Break has no ads and no analytics, and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Your scores, Sanctuary, and settings live only on your device. Optional Game Center leaderboards are handled entirely by Apple. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Do I need an account to play?

No. Cage Break is fully playable offline with no sign-up. Signing in to Game Center is optional and only adds online leaderboards — your on-device high scores stay the source of truth either way.

What are the leaderboards?

If you sign in to Game Center, every finished run is submitted automatically. There’s one leaderboard per rescue world × difficulty, so you can compare your best runs with players worldwide. Any high scores you earned offline before signing in are pushed up so nothing is lost.

What devices does Cage Break support?

Cage Break requires iOS 17.0 or later and runs on both iPhone and iPad. It’s portrait-only.

Is Cage Break free?

Yes — Cage Break is free to play, and all ten rescue worlds unlock as you reach score milestones.

What is Cage Break Pro?

Cage Break Pro is an optional one-time $2.99 in-app purchase that unlocks two things:

You can buy Pro from the in-app Settings screen. It’s a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID, so Restore Purchases (also in Settings) brings it back if you reinstall or play on another device.

How do I reset my progress?

Open Settings inside the app and choose to erase your data. This clears your scores, Sanctuary, unlocked worlds, and settings on the device — like a fresh install, and it can’t be undone. Game Center leaderboard scores are stored by Apple and aren’t affected.
